From April 15-23, Yerevan will host the 2023 European Weightlifting Championship. The official opening ceremony of the championship will take place on April 14. The competitions will be held at K. Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex. More than 350 weightlifters from 40 countries will take part in it.
Athletes in the capital of Armenia, in addition to competing for the title of champion of the continent, will also qualify for the Olympic Games - 2024 in Paris. The organizers of the championship are the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) and the Armenian Weightlifting Federation with the support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.
