MONUMENT TO AVETIK ISAHAKYAN

The monument is dedicated to Avetik Isahakyan (1875-1957), a distinguished Armenian poet, public figure, publicist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR, and participant in the “Nemesis” operation. It is situated in Ring Park, adjacent to the street bearing his name.
The monument was unveiled on June 12, 1965.
The statue stands on a rectangular, hewn pedestal made of black granite.
The total height of the monument is 6 meters. On the front side of the pedestal
is engraved:
AVETIK ISAHAKYAN
The bronze statue depicts the poet in a walking pose, holding a cane and
with a cloak draped behind him. The portrayal is realistic, capturing
Isahakyan’s clothing, the wrinkles of his face, and his contemplative demeanor
with great portrait accuracy.
The monument is designed to be viewed from all sides.
