Located at the intersection of Moskovyan, Stepan Zoryan, and Alexander Spendiaryan streets, at 31 Moskovyan Street. The building was designed between 1948-1950. Construction
was carried out in four phases and completed in 1957. It was built by the
Gyumush Hydroelectric Power Station construction organization and was intended
for the power station's employees. In addition to energy workers, artists and
high-ranking officials also resided in the building.
Some scenes from Edmond Keosayan’s film “Men”
(1972) were shot in one of the apartments with spacious balconies.
This is one of the best structures built in Yerevan
during the 1950s. It consists of 13 sections and 147 apartments. The decoration
of the entrances incorporates elements of medieval Armenian architecture. The
decorative facade ornaments - capitals, arches, and cornices - are connected
with the artistic solutions of buildings designed by Alexander Tamanyan.
