YEREVAN METRO “YOUTH” STATION

The station is located at the intersection of Abovyan and Isahakyan Streets.
They commissioned the station for operation on March 7, 1981, during the opening of the Friendship-Sasuntsi David line, the first phase of the Yerevan metro construction.
The interior decoration uses light gray marble. Builders paved the floor with basalt tiles. Inside, there is a high relief sculpture “Youth” created by sculptor Ruzan Kyurkchyan. Designers decorated the exterior walls with travertine slabs.
The construction used reinforced concrete. They also utilized glass.
This station is one of the best examples of Soviet modernist architecture.
