THIRD GOVERNMENT HOUSE (MINISTRIES BUILDING)

Architects: Telman Gevorgyan, Vardan Husyan

 

The building is located in the block between Arami, Nalbandyan, Republic, and Vardanants streets, adjacent to the “Republic Square” metro station of the Yerevan Metro.

It is a three-wing structure housing various ministries and state inspectorates of the Republic of Armenia. A section of the ground floor of the wing facing Arami Street is occupied by the Alexander Tamanyan National Museum-Institute of Architecture.

The walls are made of concrete, faced with dressed stones of orange tuff.

The territory features medieval khachkars (cross-stones), khachkar fragments, a vishap stone (dragon stone), and tombstones.
