RESIDENTIAL HOUSE

Late XIX century

State index: 1.6.200.2

The house is located at 3 Tigran Mets Avenue (formerly Old Barracks, then October Avenue).

The building stands two stories high with a basement. It has a U-shaped plan with short wings. The building arranges two rows of adjacent rooms along its axis, orienting them in opposite directions - west (street) and east (courtyard). The main entrance comes from the street. In the architectural composition, the first floor stands out with many artistic elements. A row of rectangular openings with ear-shaped frames forms its basis. Slightly protruding rectangular wall sections, divided by belts, sit under the windows. A low basement door is present in the flat plinth.

The second floor has a simpler solution compared to the first - the building frames rectangular windows with outline frames. A cornice with dentils distinguishes the inter-floor ceiling. The building tops off with a crowning cornice. The wall utilizes roughly processed stone in a ribbon-like manner for the decorative treatment.

The structural system features load-bearing stone walls with medium masonry, and the building uses Yerevan-processed tuff on the street facade. The ceiling is flat and wooden. The roof is sloped and metal.

It has undergone renovations.
