Manuel Belgrano
On August 15, 2019, the bust of the Argentine national hero, politician, lawyer, and general Manuel Belgrano was installed in the Square of the Republic of Argentina in Yerevan, stressing the centuries-old friendship between the two nations.
He took part in the Argentine Wars of Independence and created the Flag of Argentina. He is regarded as one of the main Founder Fathers of the country.
In 1816 the Congress of Tucumán took place, which declared the independence of Argentina from the Spanish Empire and other countries.
