The
bust of the Soviet soldier of Armenian origin Hunan Avetisyan is located in the
Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan, in front of School No. 74 named
after Hunan Avetisyan. The monument was installed in 1956. It is made of
bronze, the pedestal is made of basalt.
Hunan
Avetisyan participated in the 89th Armenian Rifle Division on the Eastern Front
of World War II. During the battle, he blocked the firing point of Nazi Germany
with his body and died, for which he was posthumously awarded the title of Hero
of the USSR.
