On September 21, Independence Day of Armenia, the building of Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre was unveiled with new lighting.


On the occasion of the Republic of Armenia’s Independence Day, the Opera House was presented to Yerevan residents and guests of the capital with artistic new lighting. At the initiative and with the funding of Yerevan Municipality, the lighting system of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre was modernized. The building was illuminated with around 400 LED projectors.

The official ceremony was accompanied by performances from the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and Choir, conducted by the director of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, maestro Karen Durgaryan.
