MONUMENT TO AVETIK ISAHAKYAN

The monument is dedicated to the great Armenian poet, public figure, publicist, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Armenian SSR, participant in the "Nemesis" operation Avetik Isahakyan (1875-1957). It is located in the Ring Park, next to the street of the same name.
The ceremonial opening took place on June 12, 1965. The black granite rectangular, polished pedestal is a bronze statue of the poet (total height: 6 m). The front of the pedestal is engraved: AVETIK ISAHAKYAN
The
poet is depicted walking, holding his cane and cloak with his hands behind his
back. His posture, the shape of his clothes, his wrinkled face, and his
concerned and wise gaze express the inner world of the poet, deep in thought.
