1985

State index: 1.11.13
Sculptor: Mikael Jaghatspanyan
Architect: Hovhannes Berberyan

The monument is located at the end of Arshakunyats Avenue, near the "Erebuni" airport. It consists of a pair of monuments standing on a platform and resembling an airplane, and a memorial wall built in the back. Sculptures of flying cranes are attached to the right-hand monument. The left-hand monument is a symbol of eternity. The memorial wall has a complex thematic solution. A bilingual inscription runs along the upper border: "NO ONE IS FORGOTTEN, NOTHING IS FORGOTTEN. 1941-1945." Below it are bas-reliefs: hammer and sickle, eagle, grapes, pomegranate, war scenes, etc. The monuments are made of concrete, faced with white cement. The memorial wall is made of tuff, its dimensions are 25 x 4 m. The monument is a tribute to the pilots who died in the war.
