MONUMENTS
UNIFIED CROSS
2013
The monument, a symbol of friendship between the Armenian and Russian
peoples, is located in the Ring Park. It was installed on December 2, 2013. It
is made of white-gray granite, its height is 4.5 meters. The monument depicts
two Armenian and Russian women who bowed their heads before the cross, a symbol
of their common faith. With this bow, they simultaneously protect the cross.
The complex dimensions of the monument ensure the monumental perception of the
statue. The pedestal is engraved in Armenian and Russian: “Blessed is the
centuries-old friendship of the Armenian and Russian peoples.” A similar model
of this monument was installed in the center of Moscow in 1997, on the occasion
of the 850th anniversary of the founding of Moscow, in the park of the
“Nikitian Gates”.
