The monument dedicated to Gevorg Chavush (Gevorg Ghazaryan, 1870–1907), a prominent figure of the Western Armenian national liberation movement, comrade-in-arms of Arabo, Aghbyur Serob, Zoravar Andranik and Hrayr Dzhokhq is located in the Ajapnyak administrative district, at the intersection of Bashinjaghyan, Mazmanyan and Beknazaryan streets, in the Gevorg Chaush square.
The opening of the monument took place on September 29, 2007. The basalt statue is placed in the center of the square, on a hill. Chaush stands firmly on his native land, leaning against a rock, looking towards the biblical Mount Ararat. The inscription on the lower face of the rock reads: GEVORG CHAUSH
The total height of the monument is 12 m, the height of the statue is 7 m.
