ALEXANDER MYASNIKYAN MONUMENT

The
monument is dedicated to the Soviet, state, party and military figure, literary
critic, first chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the Armenian
SSR Alexander Myasnikyan (1886-1925).
On
a rectangular, low, polished pedestal placed on a common platform, stands a
statue of Myasnikyan made of pink granite, the height of which is 8.6 m. The
statesman is wearing a military uniform, the features have a figurative
resemblance. Behind the statue, a polished gray granite sculptured column and
five table-shaped memorial walls rise up. Of these, the words ALEXANDER
MYASNIKYAN are carved on the front seat of the one on the right, and the lines
dedicated to Alexander Myasnikyan by Yeghishe Charents are carved on the front
seat of the one on the left.

One of the obelisks features a
recess resembling a khachkar, on which floral ornaments and the coat of arms of
Soviet Armenia are carved.
