How to Spend 48 Hours in Yerevan


With Wizz Air and Turkish Airlines offering new flight routes linking Yerevan to London, now is the perfect time to explore one of the world’s oldest cities.


Day 1: Yerevan – Architecture, Heritage & Wine Culture

Morning – Viva la Republic
Begin at Republic Square, the architectural heart of Yerevan, surrounded by iconic pink tuff buildings and cultural landmarks. Explore the History Museum of Armenia and the lively Vernissage Market, then stroll along Abovyan Street to admire historic architecture, Grand Hotel Yerevan, and the Charles Aznavour statue. Continue to the National Opera and Ballet Theatre, the artistic Cascade Complex, and enjoy panoramic views of Mount Ararat before visiting the Matenadaran Museum, home to Armenia’s priceless ancient manuscripts.

Afternoon – Highs and Lows
Visit the Mother Armenia Monument in Haghtanak Park for impressive city views, then discover Tsitsernakaberd Memorial and Genocide Museum, a moving tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide and an important part of Armenia’s modern history.

Evening – Wine O’clock

Day 2: Ancient Wonders, Armenian Brandy & Culinary Traditions

Morning – Pagans & Priests
Take a trip to the Azat Gorge to discover two of Armenia’s UNESCO-listed treasures: the ancient Garni Temple and the rock-carved Geghard Monastery. Admire Garni’s classical architecture and the dramatic basalt columns of the gorge before exploring Geghard’s historic chapels and spiritual atmosphere.

Afternoon – Soviet Cheer
Return to Yerevan and visit the legendary Ararat Brandy Factory. Learn about Armenia’s centuries-old brandy-making tradition, explore the museum and cellars, and enjoy a tasting of this iconic Armenian spirit.

Evening – Food Farewell
