Museum Night: Museums will be open free of charge until midnight on May 16
International Museum Day is celebrated annually on May 18. This year’s theme, “Museums Uniting a Divided World,” highlights the key role of museums as spaces for cultural dialogue, mutual understanding, and the preservation and transmission of universal values.
On May 16, numerous museums across Armenia will join the initiative, offering a rich program including exhibitions, educational activities, workshops, public discussions, and interactive visits. On this day, museums will be open free of charge from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight).
Events will continue on May 18 according to the regular visiting hours of each museum.
International Museum Day was established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), while “Museum Night” was launched in 2005 by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, under the patronage of ICOM, UNESCO, and the Council of Europe. Armenia has been participating in the initiative since 2005.
We invite everyone to join the celebrations and discover the unifying power of museums.
