MONUMENT TO DANIEL VARUZHAN

The bust of Daniel Varuzhan (Chpugkaryan), a distinguished Western Armenian poet who became a martyr of the Armenian Genocide, is located at 19th Sebastia Street, in the courtyard of Primary School No. 89, which is named in his honor. The sculpture was created in 1972 and installed in 1974 by sculptor Torgom Chorekchyan.
The bronze bust is mounted on a high basalt pedestal. Varuzhan is portrayed in a slightly leaning position, dressed in a jacket and tie. The bust captures his realistic facial features, highlighting his strength and integrity. The front surface of the pedestal is engraved with the poet's name and the date of the sculpture’s creation:
